ACT vs SAT Tests

The ACT
  • Typically, juniors across the nation are all reequired to take the ACT Test
  • The ACT questions are much more straightforward
  • The ACT consists of 5 parts - English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Writing
  • Merit-Based Test
  • 0-36 point scale
The SAT
  • If you plan on attending a college outside of your home state, the SAT is highly recommended
  • The SAT focuses on vocabulary more than anything else
  • The SAT does not have a science section
  • The SAT consists of three parts - Critical Reading, Writing, and Mathematics - but there are multiple parts in EACH of these parts
  • Aptitude Test
  • The scores from each section can range from 200 to 800, so the best possible total score is 2400.
