The first thing that strikes me about education is knowledge gain. Education gives us knowledge of the world around us. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life. The problem is that some students have a hard time learning and excelling in life. This can be caused by lack of enthusiasm, dislike of writing, or just a bad environment. Students with learning problems, even those who read well, frequently submit written work which is brief and/or difficult to read.

ACT Study Tips
This post is aimed specifically at any Junior who is preparing to take the ACT test sometime this March! The ACT may seem intimidating, challenging, and as though it determines the rest of your life. The truth is, the ACT test is a test of TIME. If the tester had all the time in the world, the test would be fairly simple.
The ENGLISH section has 75 questions - 45 minutes
The MATH section has 60 questions - 60 minutes
The READING section has 40 questions - 35 minutes
The SCIENCE section has 40 questions - 35 minutes
The WRITING section will give you a prompt, and you have 30 minutes to answer the prompt.
As a senior, I have already taken the ACT, and here are some of my study and preparation tips for the ACT...
1) Study OUTSIDE of school. Every junior should be given a practice ACT book with a practice test for ALL subjects, and three different versions of each test. DO THEM. It WILL help.

Interview with Mr. Lorenz!
Hi everyone! I interviewed one of our very own teachers from Wyoming High School! Mr. Lorenz, an AP English, AP Psychology, and Drama teacher, is very passionate about teaching, and gave us some information about being a teacher, and what it takes to BE a teacher...
MaryC: Did you always want to be a teacher?
Mr. Lorenz: No. I actually graduated with a psychology degree.
MaryC: Why did you choose to be a teacher?
Mr. Lorenz: I am good at working with kids, and I was interested in studying literature.
MaryC: How many years of college did you have in order to become a teacher?
Mr. Lorenz: 4 years (Bachelor's) and 2 more for teacher certification
MaryC: What are the rewards of being a teacher?
Mr. Lornez: Seeing kids learning things they thought they couln't

BE AT SCHOOL ON OCTOBER 3! IT'S COUNT DAY!
Count day is when all public schools (by state) take a count of all the students present during that day. Based on the number of students who are present, the more state funding is provided for that school's education system. Each student is "worth" about $6,846! Last year, the count for Wyoming Public Schools dropped to 4,696 students - a 138 student drop. Hopefully, the High School consolidation will increase our student numbers, and also increase our state funding. The Fall Count on October 3 will account for 90% of the funding for the 2012-2013 school year. BE AT SCHOOL.
